Madrigal Dinners

One may ask, “What exactly is a Madrigal Dinner?” One internet encyclopedia put it this way, “A Madrigal Dinner or Madrigal Feast is an American form of dinner theatre often held by schools and church groups during the Christmas season. It is set in the Middle Ages and is generally comedic in nature. The meal is divided into courses, each of which is heralded with a traditional song such as “The Wassail Song” and the “Boar's Head Carol.”

At the Northfield Madrigal Dinners a play, “Sir Christemas” by Thomas Yeakle for soloist, chorus and harp will be performed between the courses and a concert of choral music will conclude the festivities. The Northfield Madrigal Dinners will take place Monday and Tuesday, December 10 and 11. These delightful dinners will be fun for the entire family. Perhaps you are looking for a unique gift for a relative or friends. Tickets for the Madrigal Dinners might just be the answer. The prices are Adults $25 and $10 for children 10 and under. Tickets may be purchased in the church office during the week or after services on Sunday. Plan now to attend and bring friends. You will enjoy!
