Christian Education is a Lifelong Journey
...and we hope that when you join us for these opportunities at Northfield Community Church you find strength and encouragement from fellow travelers on that path.
NCC's Sunday Seminar is our forum for discussing world issues and events in light of our faith. Typical seminar topics range from how to take the Bible "seriously, not literally" to overviews of the other faiths in our community to global warming and war crimes. Each year, we pick up the Foreign Policy Association's Great Decisions series and consider topics covering the globe - with a particular eye toward how our faith affects our thoughts and actions on these topics. We discuss questions of faith and theology to consider where we stand and why. Newcomers are welcome to join this group any time - Sundays from 9:15-10:15am. Sunday Seminar is taking a break for the summer and will resume Sept. 19.
Women's Bible Study meets every Tuesday morning at 10:00 for conversation that starts with Scripture and moves into the world. In the past, topics have ranged from Revelation to meals with Jesus to the Psalms. We've studied stories of Jesus at prayer and seen how our prayer lives might be changed. Women's Bible Study is continuing through the summer, with discussion of Barbara Essex's book, "More Bad Girls of the Bible."
Our adult education also includes movie-viewing, a monthly prayer breakfast, and occasional classes for parents.
