Thom Bower

Associate Minister for Leadership and Pastoral Support

Rev. Dr. Thom Bower is ordained in the United Church of Christ. He has served local congregations, taught seminary, and traveled with a circus as a clown.



Thom holds a Doctorate of Education from Union Theological Seminary and the Presbyterian School of Christian Education (Union-PSCE, now Union Presbyterian Seminary); his dissertation has been published as Critical Pedagogy and Christian Education. He also holds three Masters’ Degrees from

United Theological Seminary, Dayton OH (Master of Arts in Religious Education (MARE) and Master of Arts in Theological Studies (MATS, both in 1994); and Master of Divinity (M. Div) in 1998) and a BA in Religious Studies (with minors in Psychology and Theatre) from Florida Southern College (1990). In his

spare time, he likes to build castles out of Legos.
